  1. You bring up some good points here about the benefits of using hypermedia in the classroom. One thing I didn’t think about mentioning in my own post that you mentioned was the fact that students can work at their own pace and review the hypermedia at home if needed. I think that this is a very important benefit especially for students with learning disabilities or special needs.

  2. Hi Melissa,
Thanks for offering so many great resources. Media has opened the world to our students by offering deeper information, illustrations, and interactive capabilities. Who wouldn’t be interested in these great learning opportunities?

  3. I like the suggestion that should I lose my work, there are so many lesson plans and units available online to refer to. I have actually found that school districts often will create units of study if my district hasn’t created one and I can use it for the foundation of my unit and pick and choose which pieces will fit into my own classroom. I didn’t know that there is a whole class dedicated to youtube! Are you able to set your video as private and still post it to the blog for people to see? This blog is the first time I have created my own youtube channel.

  4. Melissa,

Extensive vlog! I really liked the piece on the interactive periodic table. I’ll pass that on to my new science colleague. You covered quite a few different types of media that could provide a first-year teacher with a wealth of information from which to draw from for their lessons.

  5. You really covered some great resources in this blog. I love using the PBS Media site, There are some great lesson plans, videos, and interactive for social studies as well.
